"The challenge is set IBM customers to address their highest value - its people - which is their biggest competitive advantage," said Tim Ringo, IBM vice president of human resources management.
The study was conducted on 1900 people from more than 1000 public and private organizations in the world. HCI worked with IBM in the study as a global network, which encourages its members to benefit from talent.
Of the organizations surveyed, only 40 percent were found to accurately predict the skills, while 46 percent of the organization failed to send staff in the right roles and 62 percent of executives failed in its ability to develop staff in a "timely and effective manner."
