
Laptop makers, chip manufacturers and telecom operators have banded together to promote 3G technology in laptops and other mobile devices.
What's more is that they have cobbled together a war chest of 1 billion U.S. dollars to show on the road. The plans to create a new Mobile Broadband logo, which will show consumers that their new Lappi are able to get online and access to e-mail, regardless of the place over 3G networks. No more hunting for Wi-Fi hotspots.
By Christmas, the first laptops bearing the Mobile Broadband logo will start shipping in 91 countries.
